MUMS ON THE RUN-FAILED BY THE FAMILY COURT

Mums on the run-Failed by the Family Court LINK

Presented on BBC on Monday 4th September this ‘special’ report by Ed Thomas claims to document the lives of 6 mothers who fled to Northern Cyprus to avoid findings of Parental Alienation against them. At first glance this report appears to document some terrible cases of failure in the family court and how they forced an innocent primary parent to give their child to an abusive father.

On second glance it is nothing of the sort. The report provides no evidence or reports from the affected fathers. Worse it makes no mention of the effect on the children. It seems that these are cases of abduction to avoid the consequences of alienating behaviours by the mothers. Ed Thomas produced a follow up with a further justification for this appalling program LINK. Karen Woodall, the voice of reason in so many of these cases, makes the point LINK, that until they publish the evidence this program was based upon, this looks like a simple attempt to hide child abuse in the UK by abducting the children to a non-Hague country.

Many FNF-BMP members have protested to the BBC LINK about the dreadful bias in this program and have offered their own case to help the journalists produced something more balanced in the future.

Since the programme was aired the Manchester University research that the programme was apparently based upon has come to light LINK. It now appears, without investigating or charging either the abusive fathers or the family courts they are responsible for physical symptoms such as Crohn's disease, cancer, psoriasis, heart palpitations and miscarriage….As well as psychological  things, such a suicide ideation, memory loss, depression and flash backs.

The common technique for producing reports like is trawling through places where allegations are likely to be found and treating what ‘they say’ as the true and full story.

Demolishing such reports intellectually is usually a doddle.

What our cause needs to reflect on is this: - how to combat their credibility especially among those inclined to believe them.
